I forgot to mention!

The second best part of the wedding?
The gorgeous MOH dress that her sister, Pippa, wore!

(via)

I'd wear that in a heart beat - possibly even for my own wedding dress..
(I used to be scared of sleeves on wedding dresses - but I may be obsessed now)

Oh and its 60 degrees and sunny here - let the frolicking in the sunshine begin :)

I Gave In..

For the past month/couple of weeks when everyone went around obsessing about the Royal wedding
I kept telling myself "Really? This is not that cool. I mean people get married every day these two just happen to be royal!" Not that I didn't wish the most of happiness and prosperity to them - I just didn't quite...care?

Well. I must have been lying to myself the entire time, because after looking at all of these pictures of the wedding and how absolutely BEAUTIFUL Kate is, and how great her dress was... I'll admit it - I teared up a bit! CRAZY! (My friends just like to say I'm really in tune with my emotions)

Now if you haven't already caught glimpse of the beauty of the Royal wedding on every other blog that you're following or have looked at - then here are some pictures to brighten up your weekend :)

Impeccable. Just beautiful.
How precious!? That smile on her face? I'm smiling just looking at it!

And last but not least...

The Royal Kiss!
My favorite part? The little girl next them.. Haha
Or maybe the one in front with the grumpy face... totally how I'm feeling knowing that one prince is off the market... haha

Sheesh - I'm just so happy for them and I don't even know them!
Oh well, I wish all the best to them -
and that Harry will stay single long enough to realize he's madly in love with me..
A girl can dream right? haha

Amen, AYMENN.
Have a great wedding everyone!
(Yes, I did actually mean to type Weekend - guess we all know what I'm thinking about)

Ps: How many think that all brides this season will now have long lace sleeves?
hahaha

Until next time,

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Funny how fast Wednesday comes isn't it?
I feel like it was just Monday!
Granted, I'm not sure if I love how fast the week goes - because most papers are due on Friday..
and in that case, I'd like Friday to take as long as it can to get here ha

Regardless of my complaints!
It's that time again..

1. Dave Patten
Like really? Could he get any preppier/cuter? AHH
I know he was on my "Tune in Tuesdays!" play list, but honestly? I can't get enough of this kid!
He can sing AND he's so cute it kills me - not to mention he's still young (THERE'S HOPE FOR ME!)
Funny part? When I first showed swimmer smanger this God of a human being here's how the conversation went..
Me: A. I hope he was a Beta in college
B. I'd ask him to formal
C. I'm head over heels for him
SS:  He definitely looks like Beta material,
Who wouldn't ask him to formal?
Love is in the air. Oh it feels so good.
Typical.. hahaha
If you haven't watched his video Echo yet I whole heartedly recommend you watch it RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW:

See those 103,000-some views? I am guilty of contributing about 50 views to that count..
oops :)

2. Having friends with great style, and borrowing their clothes!

As you know [If you've been reading that is..] I'm attending a fraternity formal in around two weeks
and I was on a hunt for an affordable yet cute dress..
Little did I know I didn't have to look any further than my best friend's closet!
Now its down to these two dresses:

It's actually not in this "snot" color
Its more of a light coral!
This precious dress from J.Crew..
[This would be the borrowed dress, I'm so lucky to have friends with GREAT taste]
OR:
This lovely gal that I purchased at H&M last year [and never really wore..]
I love them both but have no idea what to choose.. of course..
Any help!?

3.  Snapple Diet Peach Tea
It may seem strange.. But recently Iced Tea has completely replaced my Diet Coke binges!
This diet Snapple has the same amount of flavor as any other tea and is EXTREMELY refreshing..
Even better? It has the same amount of caffine.. Yay!

4. Tap and Track iPhone App
I think it's 99 cents?
If you haven't downloaded this app yet I totally recommend getting on it!
It's a calorie counter and daily intake counter all in your cellphone.
What more could a girl ask for?
Swimmer Smanger and I have pledged to eat healthier and exercise more and this app has become a life saver.
I always have my phone with me and with a few easy taps I can put in what I've eaten and how many calories I have left to eat if I want to
"lose weight" or "stay the same"!
So resourceful!

What's everyone else loving this Wednesday?

Until next time,

Tune In Tuesdays!

So I've decided that I, personally, am going to start a new tuesday tradition!
(Since, well, you know - writers block can get to a girl..)
Thus, today begins the first of "Tune in Tuesdays!"
Feel free to join in if you'd like - or recommend any music,
I'm a total music girl!

HERE WE GOOOO:
(Click through the song name to get to the YouTube Vid)

This weeks playlist:
(WARNING: this is an eclectic mix of everything from country to pop-remixes)
Tomorrow - Chris Young : Great country, simple yet full of emotion
I Must Be Dreaming [Acoustic] - The Maine : Acoustic gets me every time, GREAT to study to
Stuck in the Moment - Justin Bieber : Snagged this gem from Christine over at bun&borough, I don't have Bieber fever, but he gets me every time!
Let Me Take You Out - Bryan J Ft. Travis Porter : This is may be a bad song, but it's SUPER catchy :)
American Girls - Counting Crows : Just rediscovered this! I forgot how much I loved Counting Crows - great for spring.
Melt - Dave Patten : Who knows where I found this, but I LOVE it - such a great sound (AND he's cute hahaha)
Echo - Dave Patten :  Okay, so I love this one too.. I think I just really like him..
Sweet Serendipity - Lee DeWyze : Apparently I'm late to this one, but it puts me in a great mood
A Little Too Much - Natasha Bedingfield : This is from the something borrowed soundtrack and I think it's just precious
All Gone to Nothing - nelo : Catchy for studying!
Uncharted - Sara Bareilles : This song has been on repeat for weeks, I don't love the music video, but I love the message of the song
A Little Bit Stronger - Sara Evans : Classic heartbreak anthem
Seaside - The Kooks : ..Just because I love the sea side :)
The Beat - Ben Rector : Catchy, good feelin' music
Rolling in the Deep (Adele Cover) - John Legend : I love the original, but I like men's voices more than women's so this is just AMAZING - he also puts his own spin on it a bit
Hey You - Jonas Brothers : hahahahaha... I have a weakness for the JoBros
(this song may be so last summer.. but who cares)
Your Biggest Fan - Nick Jonas : Totally my favorite Jonas :) and just a precious love song!
Set Fire to The Rain - Adele : AH-MAZING... need I say more?

(and because you all know I HAVE to have a picture in every post..)
It's official - the Toth-Witherspoon clan is ADORABLE
Think they'd adopt me? I don't take much, just some adorable clothing and a few precious siblings..

Until next time,

Some inspiring words..

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
To tide you over until a post tomorrow...

I often struggle with many things on this list, but I'm working on it!
Talk to everyone tomorrow..

Until next time,

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I know I didn't post yesterday, and for that I'm incredibly sorry!
I ended up spending most of my day in Bloomington with my best friends.
It was a wonderful pick me up in the middle of my week and hopefully they loved seeing my shining face :)

Besides the wonderful meals I ate while I was there and seeing my besties in general..
my favorite part was finding out that one of my bestfriends was going to "coffee" with a new cute guy!
(she's totally going to shoot me for writing this - and I have to see her tomorrow.. LOVE YOU LINDS!)
She claimed that it wasn't a date, but we all seemed to think it was..
I mean these days I feel like if a guy is just looking for a hook-up or friend he'd rather wait until you come to his house to party during the weekend - so it's a big deal when he asks to see you in the DAYLIGHT with no alcohol involved..
hmm.. the college dating scene is always skeptical..

Even more exciting? It's WILW!

1. I stumbled upon this wonderful blog earlier today..

and yes, I am guilty of reading all the way back to the beginning of September 2010..
but it's just so great and I can relate to most of what she posts!

2. Carrie Underwood!

Lou Lou from the blog above is a very "enthusiastic fan" of Carrie - and after reading all about her I think I'm in love! She's cute, married to a very handsome hockey player, and BOY does this girl have a voice! I've been watching her videos all afternoon.. guilty as charged.
Particular favorite?
Undo It

So many guys this applies to.. but I guess that comes with being a 20something girl!
They come, they go, but oh well!
Ps: Did I mention when she performs she's so sassy! I LOVE IT!

3. Country Music

Today swimmer smanger and I went on a walk/run around campus and again from reading LouLou's blog I decided I wanted to create a "Country Workout Playlist" - let me tell you I'm back in the country music loop, and I'm sad I ever left.
Currently on repeat:
A Little Bit Stronger - Sara Evans
(Leighton Meester also performs it in Country Strong)

4. IU Straight No Chaser

No, I'm not talking about the 30-something-men that already graduated from IU
I'm talking about the absolutely amazing acapella group still at the university!
(If you don't fall in love with them after this video... well, then your loss!)

One of my good guy friends from high school is a part of the group
and swimmer smanger and I have been to see them perform in Bloomington already
- and we have a trip scheduled for next weekend for their spring show!
Sara and Lindsye will be joining us and I'm SO excited!
(it's also SS's birthday that night :) YEEE)
Ps: THE BOY THAT MY BESTFRIEND WENT TO "COFFEE" WITH IS IN THIS GROUP.. yess!

5. The Louis Vuitton Speedy 35
Oh boy, now I've never been a huge fan of Louis Vuitton - I personally find it a bit flashy.. but this bag somehow speaks to me! I'm OBSESSED to the extreme - I've looked at the website at least 20 times over the past few days, and every time my jaw drops at the $750 price tag - STEEP.
I just can't bring myself to believe its a worthwhile investment!
Oh well, for now I'll just stick to drooling over it on my keyboard..

What did you love this Wednesday?
Any good country music to recommend? I'm always open for suggestions :)

Happy Hump-Day!

Until Next time...

What's better than buying?

Yup, pastel egg macaroons!
Renting for cheaper, thats what!

First off, happy Monday and almost Easter!
I know it's late in the day, but I'm sure everyone has survived,
or at least I hope everyone has survived the most dreaded day of the week
And I'm not very religious but that doesn't mean that I'm not always looking for a reason to eat chocolate pastel colored eggs :)

Second, this past weekend I was invited by one of my best guy friends to his fraternity's formal..
and I AM SO EXCITED haha

It was totally unexpected,
I was planning on spending the wonderful night of May sixth watching a movie in my room (prolly with swimmer smanger..) ha
So you can imagine what kind of surprise it was when I got the ever-so-nonchalant text of:
"Hey, wanna have fun and go to formal?"
I, of course, said yes I'd love to - but then I realized I was faced with the most common dilemma...
What the heck am I going to wear!?

It may be a little over two weeks away, but better to be prepared than not!
So I of course quickly hopped on to my go-to-dress websites Nordstrom, Anthropologie, Lulu's, and feel free to judge, but Forever 21 (their dresses are cheap and often really cute!)

Click-through to check it out!

I found this great one at Nordstrom, and the price tag isn't even that heavy (which is always a plus!) - I'm just a bit worried that it could end up being too casual..

I sent the link to my two best friends and they both seemed to agree that it was cute - but I may be able to find better..

(but of course I dreamt about this dress last night.. embarrassing haha)

Yet, shortly after sending the link to my friends, one of them sent me the link to website,

Now, I was totally unaware that a site like this even existed (I sound like such a newbie) but I'm amazed by it!

Rent the Runway is an "online vendor"(?) that allows you to rent designer dreads (both dresses and accesories) for 90% less than they retail for!

They offer dresses by designers ranging from BCBG to Milly and many many more..

Dresses that would usually retail for hundreds of dollars are yours for a simple fee of (usually) $50 and a $5 insurance fee
(in case the zipper breaks, or you have one too many drinks an manage a stain! - rather be safe than sorry!)

You can search their inventory by:
What's New
Dresses
Accessories
Designers
Occasions
and Weddings

And within each category they allow you to customize your search by size, availability, color, length, etc.
They recommend that you order at least two days in advance, and let you order one size with the second one for free - just to make sure it fits! (HOW GREAT!)

The only downside to this plan is the fact that even if they have your DREAM dress, it may already be rented for the night that you want it - bummer right?
But I guarantee you can find tons and tons of great dresses regardless!

After searching through all of my favorite designers I came upon two dresses that I am particularly in love with..

No, I don't agree with her shoe choice..
I would have chosen nude heels!

First is this beautiful Tibi Dress - Calla Lily Cap Sleeve Dress-
I just can't get enough of it!
A dress that usually retails at $378 for a $50 rental fee!
The only issues I have with it is that I'm larger busted and I don't quite know what I'd do about a bra... Suggestions?

Next, from one of my favorite designers Milly, the Prim and Proper Bow Dress

This dress usually retails at $385 and only costs $50 to rent.
I think this dress is just precious - its classic with clean lines and who doesn't love a great bow?
My main issue with this one is the fact that it's black - I've been trying to avoid my black obsession
Especially since it's spring! I feel like I need to stick to fun colors to embrace the season!
I also have dark hair soo... ha

I also would not be wearing tights with this dress.. I'm not quite a tights girl, certainly not in the spring!
I would wear nude heels with this dress as well..

But, regardless of what I've found - How great is this site!
If you've tried it out already, I'm super impressed and jealous...
If not? Then get on it and let me know how it goes!

I'll keep you all updated on the dress search - and let me know what you think about these three!
Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Also: Anything particular you college girls out there do to get ready for formals?

Until next time..

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

So, I was on the phone with my best friend on friday.. and she yelled at me for not posting recently!
I'm so sorry all, but it was such an incredibly busy week I couldn't quite find the time to fit in any posts,
but I promise this week will be different!

I have plans for tons of posts - which means it'll be an extra exciting week!
I even plan on starting a new Friday post tradition... we'll see how that goes ha

First thing to tackle today?

She so sweetly awarded me with the Sisterhood blogging award!
Her blog is PRECIOUS and yes I do mean precious in all capitals!
She and her fiancé are just the cutest couple and she has some of the greatest posts,
from food to God, she covers it all in a lovely way!
I'm so thankful I stumbled on her blog, its one of my favorites to check every day :)

The rules for the Sisterhood Award are as follows:
1. Link back to the blogger who gave you the award, and thank them profusely!
2. Share seven things about yourself.
3. Pass the award on to five blogs you've newly discovered.
4. Let your winners know you've given them the award!

Oh sheesh sometimes these lists are hard to come up with! But here goes nothing!

1. I love love love getting onto "underground" music websites -
that may not make much sense.. but I'm talking about websites that post music by often undiscovered artists and have tons of fun remixes! I get tons of my study music (the pump-up kind) from them!
Here's a list of a few:
and my personal favorite:

2. I am OBSESSED with Maine Coon cats.
Maine Coon Kitten
Now I don't love cats that much, I mean of course I love kittens, but grown up cats sometimes freak me out.. I have one of my own and she's real strange haha
But there is something about Maine Coon cats that I just love..
It could be the fact that they're the size of a small tiger... or that they have the softest fur ever..
Regardless, when I grow up (haha..) I'll have one and name it Tigre (tiger in french)

Grown up cat
3. I used to HATE going to Cape Cod in the summer
That could sound completely absurd to a lot of you -
but when I was little it was incredibly difficult to leave my friends and life and go live in another place for 8 weeks..
But seeing as I have no grown up there, I couldn't imagine spending my summers anywhere else with anyone else :)

4. I will never write a post that doesn't include a picture.
I just love looking at blogs with pictures thus, its hard for me to imagine anyone wanting to look at my blog if it didn't have any pictures! So never fear, there will ALWAYS be some sort of picture to sum up my posts, even if there aren't many words :)

5.  Before committing to DePauw I wanted to go to Southern Methodist University (SMU)
...but my dad wouldn't let me go because he said it was too far away..
See I have this plan that when I grow up (haha again) that I WILL, no matter what, live in Dallas Texas.
I have this love for the south that I can't describe and it's the only place I want to spend the rest of my life..
I'll keep you all updated on how that goes haha

6. I have an incredibly hard time opening up to other girls..
I've been through a lot of best girl friends in my life, before I found my wonderful current ones of course, and after a certain point it became extremely difficult to trust many girls - in turn I have TONS of great guy friends.. aka: I'm often refered to as a "bro" - a girly one at that.

7. I have tons of homework to do right now, but I'd rather blog.
Haha, totally my life story.

New Blogging Friends!
Lindsey Leigh at Keep It Classy, Alabama
Anna Katrina at Passport Glamour
Shannon at I Love Your Crazy
Miss Lindsay at Vineyard Loveknots

Hop on over and check them out!
And thanks again to Amber!
Awards are the best feeling ever :)

Happy Sunday!
Until next time..

Monday, April 11, 2011

It's Monday, but...it's okay!

Oh my, how I hate to be that girl, but I'll say it:

I MISS DUNKIN' DONUTS.
I love DePauw's small campus -
but I'm craving a medium french vanilla iced coffee with extra skim and two splenda..
(I know, it's embarrassing that my order is so extensive)
DO you see that? Pure perfection.
Ha, okay, I'm over it now- I believe I can now write a normal blog post...

For a Monday treat -
Because I want to help us all do a bit better on those tough Mondays -
(getting back into the flow and everything)
Heres my suggestion for this Monday and the rest of the week:

...Do you ever find yourself stuck in the blogging world?
Constantly finding a new blog to read?
Or maybe you get stuck on Tumblr?
(with all the fun stuff, how could you not?!)
Or is Facebook your vice?
Could it be Twitter?
Perhaps your gmail inbox is perpetually empty, but you check ever five seconds anyway?

You have to know where I'm going...
The terrible terrible websites we all use to procrastinate!
I'm guilty, I'm sure the girl next to me is guilty, and probably the guy down the hall too..
So what can you do about it?
Well I miraculously stumbled upon this amazing application, Self-Control.

This application (one that I PROMISE is not spam or any sort of virus) allows the user of the computer or application to block specific websites for designated amounts of time.
This does not block the ENTIRE world wide web like many applications like this do - this only blocks the websites you designate.

When you first open this program you get this screen:

It is here where you can set the websites you want to block. You'd do this by clicking on the Edit Blacklist button. From there you type in whichever and however many websites you'd like to block.
After that you can drag that little blue ball along the line to adjust how much time you want these sites to be blocked for - Time ranges from 15 minutes to an entire day

During the time that Self-Control is running this little box will be up, counting down the minutes until you're free to roam your favorite sites!

WARNING: If you block a website for say, three hours, you WILL not be able to get on it, no matter what. You could shut down your computer, quit the internet, restart the computer - doesn't matter, nothing will stop Self-Control from blocking these websites
This is the beauty of this program, yet also the evil at the same time - so make sure you are POSITVE you will not be needing the sites you have blocked!

I'll admit, this is a bit of a random thing to blog about - but it's perfect for days when you have a paper due, or an exam coming up, or maybe you just want to disconnect with the world for awhile!

If you're a procrastinator - which I am - I whole heartedly recommend downloading this!
Oh, and Remember:

Until next time,

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Just can't get enough!

As I said in my last post - this past weekend was a long one.
I won't go into extreme, play by play detail, just rest assured it was the most fun I've had in a long time - even if I cried so many times I can't count them all on one hand haha

PS: For those of you just joining - This past weekend was "Little 5" at DePauw
If you aren't aware of what "Little 5" is (which you probably aren't since it's an Indiana thing..)
Go here - or let me sum it up for you:
Little 500 or "Little 5" It's one of the biggest weekends at DPU and it consists of two day long biking events from street sprints to the final race on saturday. There is a girls race and a guys race - the races consist of riders from almost always each fraternity and sorority. The tradition was adapted from the original Little 500 at IU.
For DePauw students it's one of the most fun weekends of the year and is filled with dartying (day partying), going out late into the night, concerts, and of course the races :)

The weekend was filled with the essentials:

Ha. Ha. HAAAA
1. Best Friends:
Yes I was lucky enough to have my two best friends from IU come spend the weekend with me - This is the most recent picture we've all three taken together (it's from this past summer..), there could be something wrong with that! We'll have to work on the pictures.
Swimmer smanger was also there - but for some reason all of the pictures she and I have together are not quite appropriate haha

2. Wonderful Weather:
When I woke up saturday morning - it was storming out but by12 the rain had stopped and it was BURNING UP and absolutely amazing outside - could barely spend a minute inside
This picure is from last year's little five - but the weather was the same (yes, I was hot in my patagonia last year, I had to change about five minutes in haha)

And of course good times out the wazoo:

HAHAH - this is one of the pictures I took this weekend!
Oh man, at this point (thats my best friend Lindsye and Thomas from AudioDax) all I wanted to do was take a simple picture of the two of them - you know? Smiling and looking happy - well they certainly look happy but the smiling failed ha ha
(ps: Lindsye, so sorry for posting this haa don't kill me!)
Ultimately I'd call the weekend a success!
Only 365 days until next Little 5 - mark your calendars!

BUT - I just realized I spent the past however long, talking about the weekend!
Not what I really wanted to post about  - funny how that happens, isn't it?

Well! I wanted to talk about the music that I've been adoring over the past week/few days:

I have become obsessed with...
(And I mean I can't even study without listening to some of their music,
their song White Blank Page is my ringtone..)
 you guessed it:
Mumford & Sons

If you haven't blessed your ears with the melodious harmonies of Mumford & Sons then I reccomend you get yourself over to iTunes and check out their stuff - you'll be a convert before you even know it!

My current personal favorite of their songs is: White Blank Page
I'll admit it's slightly depressing but I relate to it on an insane level - here's a video of them doing it live in their "bookshop sessions":
To follow that already amazing video, is this one of Taylor Swift covering White Blank Page

Now, I know not everyone loves TSwift, some see her as a terrible singer, others as a poser as a country singer - but regardless of if you have negative preconceived notions about her - PLEASE give this video a chance, it's one of Taylor's best.

Hope I didn't babble too much on this post - I think I just got kind of excited ha ha :)

How was everyone else's' weekend? Any fun projects or events attended?

Until Next time,

Saturday, April 9, 2011

Ladies and Gents:

I, Cape Cod Collegiate, am extremely sorry that I have not been able to update!
At my school it is currently a weekend called, "Little Five" where, as much as I hate to say it, students get incredibly under the influence and then go watch a bike race that each fraternity and sorority have riders in.
So, that may or may not be what my weekend has consisted of! I'll be back tomorrow!

For now:
A preppy picture :)

So close to summer! P.S: I absolutely ADORE this pool

Until next time,

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I've done it, I've given in - it's time for a
"What I'm Loving" Wednesday!

Now since this is my first time doing it - it may take me a minute to get into it ha
So I apologize if it's too long? Or you don't care?
Just leave me a comment to help improve? Who knows!

1.  ManeMessage hair ties:

You an hop on over to this precious Etsy shop and find
some of the coolest hair ties ever.
Now I understand that not all people are nearly as excited as I am about hair ties..
But I just get really excited about the little things!
I'm dying for a set of the tye-dye ones...
Best part?
They're neat to wear on your wrist and won't leave one of those ugly hair tie dents in your skin -
So they're essentially just an extremely versatile thing to add to your daily stack!
PS: They also come in headband form!

2. My Rainbow sandals:
As you can see, they're a little worn in!
Now that its warming up my Rainbows have finally been able to see the light again!
I forgot how much I missed them - Such a "go-to" shoe.
My pair is a little worn in, but my last pair lasted for four years so I can't complain.

3. Criminal Minds:
Sadly missing: Gideon
I own seasons 1, 2, and 3 - but somehow I watched all of 1 and 2 but failed to make it to 3?
So I'm currently spending a bunch of quality time with the BAU crew!
(I'll never get enough of Dr. Reid, or Morgan. I love them.)

4. J.Crew's new Sevigne Washed Leather Wedges:

I've been searching for cute wedges forever - and these seem to perfectly fit my fancy!
Now to just scrape up the funds to purchase them..
OH yes, and they WILL be in this color - nude is my current favorite shade for spring/summer

5. This room I stumbled upon on Tumblr:

I don't know what it is about this mud room but it gets my heart going pitter-patter!
I love the idea of separate cubbies for each person of the house - and the shoe drawers! HOW GENIUS!?
Also: Notice the compass on the floor? Classic.
And the Hunter Wellies in the lower right hand corner? Precious.

Well thats what's on my list for this Wednesday!
How about you guys?
Anything that you're particularly in love with this week?
Until next time,

Ps: Told my Lit professor about the Great Gatsby remake - He is not NEARLY as excited as I am haha

Monday, April 4, 2011

Oh Mr. Gatsby..

"The truth was that Jay Gatsby, of West Egg, Long Island, Sprang from his platonic conception of himself. he was a son of God-a phrase which, if it means anything, means just that and he must be about His father's business, the service of a vast vulgar, and meretricious beauty. So he invented just the sort of Jay Gatsby that a seventeen year old boy would like to invent, and to this conception he was faithful to the end"

Don't cha know it, I'm reading F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic Great Gatsby  for my Lit and Interp class...
I forgot how classic this book is.

The images of America it creates are both beautiful and depressing at the same time.

I think I was maybe meant to be born in the 20's
I can totally image myself as a flapper doing some pretty spectacular dances :)

ALSO: Did you hear they're doing a remake of the movie of the Great Gatsby?
I'm so excited!

Not to say Robert Redford wasn't an extremely handsome and a perfectly cast Gatsby... but I love the possible new cast!

Rumored cast for the remake:
Jay Gatsby - Leonardo DeCaprio (Swoon..)
Daisy Buchanan - Carey Mulligan (Perfect! She beat out ScarJo!)
Nick Carraway - Toby McGuire (I'd really like Joseph Gordon-Levitt.. haha)

The handsome Robert Redford and the
classic and beautiful, Mia Farrow

What can I say? I'm a "Book-to-Film" junkie!
(I really just love comparing everything..)

I have to admit I sure hope they redo the scene of Nick meeting Gatsby,
I hated how they didn't follow the book in the original movie!

Has everyone else read Gatsby? Thoughts?

Have a lovely rest of Monday and a wonderful Tuesday!

Who let the dawgs out?

No, I am not reverting back to the 90s and listening to my Bahama Men CD
(although I did actually own one..)

I'm talking about them Butler Bulldogs!

Now, this is a rarity - this is probably the only time that I will ever blog about sports
I'm not a huge sports follower - but I have a soft spot for Butler, so I couldn't avoid this post!

How great is that sheet sign at the Tri Delt house?
SO impressive.
As you may have noticed, I'm from Indianapolis -
And I grew up telling my mom that when I finally made it to college I would for sure go to Butler because I wanted to stay close to home, my logic being that I'd miss my parents too much..
Well, as you might believe my feelings changed and when college applications time came I applied to Butler, but really wanted to get as far away from home as possible ha

But even with not going to Butler  - I've always admired the school and claimed that if I lived farther away I'd be there in an instant!

With that said - Having Butler in the Final Four Championship could be one of the most exciting things ever! (if they hadn't done the same thing last year, of course :))
Regardless, I am SO excited - a small underdog team from Indianapolis, Indiana, comin' out on top - what a great thing for them!

To celebrate before their exciting game last night, the band AudioDax
(one that I've mentioned before, from my school, DePauw University)
performed at Butler's Phi Psi house.
Now, I'm not going to say I'm an Audiodax groupie, but I am a strong supporter - and I was at home for the weekend - so I couldn't pass up a free concert!

Luckily two of my friends from school came in to town to go to the concert too!

And my oh my was it an experience..
First we arrived and couldn't find parking - as you can imagine, campus was crazy! People everywhere celebrating and being happy - it was so cool ha - so we ended up parking in Sigma Chi's lot..
 Whoops.. haha
(good news, we did NOT get towed. We had a Sigma Chi with us luckily!)

After the parking experience, we were stuck trying to find the Phi Psi house... Luckily we wandered upon a few FratStars who were Phi Psi-s and lead us right to the concert.
Let me tell you. It was just amazing!

The guys who make up AudioDax, Matt Rivera (Krypton Flo) and Thomas Balcom (Temble), are a fantastic duo - they both had the crowd cheering for more and did an overall amazing job.

I think my favorite part was hearing the people around me, who don't go to DePauw, chanting the lyrics! It was really just so cool to see how much AudioDax has expanded and how big their fanbase really is!

(just a few photos from the afternoon..)

My personal favorite shot ha

Over all it was just a really fun Saturday day/night!

Can't wait to watch the Butler vs. UConn game tomorrow night..
I know I'm rooting for the Bulldogs..

Do I have any Husky fans out there?

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and if you haven't already -
hop on over to AudioDax's site

I promise you won't be disappointed!

Until Next time..
